CONFIRMATION AT GOOD SHEPHERD
At Good Shepherd, our Confirmation Class is a 2-year program. Students who go through our Confirmation Classes will gain a deeper understanding of the Bible, Luther’s Small Catechism, and how they both shape how we live out our faith in our lives. Our current structure pools all confirmation students into one class to dive into the curriculum for the year to build relationships across grade levels and foster more discussion.
Students who are going into 5th grade are eligible to start
Confirmation Classes.
CASKET EMPTY
2023-2024 CURRICULUM
The curriculum we are using for the 2023-2024 Confirmation Classes is called CASKET EMPTY. CASKET EMPTY is an acronym; Creation, Abraham, Sinai, Kings, Exile, Temple, Expectation, Messiah, Pentecost, Teachings, Yet to Come. This tool serves two purposes: it helps us to break down the stories of the Bible and understand them in the context of a historical timeline, and it also helps us to see how the entire Bible is one narrative pointing back to one main point, Jesus, who died and rose again, leaving the CASKET EMPTY.
